I strongly oppose. I demand the Phoenix City Council to reconsider the proposed $944,680,555 allocated to our public safety department for the 2020-21 fiscal year. I am asking that the funds be redirected towards efforts to benefit the community like education, housing, healthcare and employment.
This is a joke, city of Phoenix. Defund the police, unless you'd go out and protest right now. Otherwise, don't pretend like our public safety needs any more funding, when you guys have screwed that up so royally. #blacklivesmatter
Please reconsider the proposed $944,680,555 allocated to our public safety department for the 2020-21 fiscal year. Our community asks that you increase budgets for community development & community enrichment. The city of Phoenix needs policing alternatives/investments in Mental Health,Trauma services, Education/After-School Care, Adequate Housing, Healthcare, & Employment Opportunities. Defund the Phoenix PD and Allocate funds to policies &programs that will create and sustain a Safe Community.
I oppose the allocation of $944,680,555 to the Public Safety Department for the 2020-21 FY. The City of Phoenix Police Department has a deplorable record of violence, including having the highest number of police shootings in the country in 2018. I join many other community members in demanding that funds be re-allocated to community development and community enrichment. Police reform has proven ineffective - it's time to defund Phoenix PD and begin directly investing community-led initiatives.
Please consider the proposed $944,680555 allocated to our public safety department for the 2020-2022 fiscal year. Our community asks to redirect funds to programs that heal and educate our community. Increased the proposed $24,760,742 and $26,837,014 budgets for our community development and community enrichment.
I oppose the increase of and support the decrease of budget allocation for the Phoenix Police Department. I ask that funds be redistributed to community service agencies.
As a trauma therapist I am sick and tired of heating the trauma my clients have suffered at the hands of our police officers. Imagine how much community healthcare costs would go down if we actually got rid of the underlying problem.
You all are absolute idiots if you defund the Phx PD!! If you think this is going to help just wait and see what a @$% show it’s going to look like when done. And for all that are for this then please save us all the time and NEVER call them when you need them!!
I strongly oppose the $745,289,000 budget trying to be set in motion. For the betterment of Arizona, I advise that you redirect this money to larger programs that are underfunded or invest in education, mental health, environmental programs, etc. Arizona shouldn't be torn down, its should be uplifted and healed, this budget wouldn't do this. If you think diversifying and implementing various trainings is going to end police brutality, you're wrong. Invest in YOUR communities!!

The Phoenix City Council needs to defund and reallocate the proposed $944,680,555 budget for the Phoenix Police Department and reallocate to programs that support and enhance the community. I am asking that $3 million to the Office of Accountability and Transparency and Civilian Review Board, $2 million be reconsidered for the Arizona Commission on the Arts, and the budgets for education and community enrichment be increased in the 2020 - 2021 budget.
I oppose the spending budget on Public Safety, and request that these funds are redirected to programs dedicated to community improvement, education, and healing. This includes areas of affordable housing, public transit, sustainability/environmental programs, education, and after-school care. Phoenix PD is consistently ranked among the highest in the country for brutality cases. This is absolutely unacceptable and has been shown to be completely ineffective in "protecting" our community.
At this time, it is vital to fund the Phoenix police department. Proper funding allows for the department to increase training, have adequate staffing, and equipment so they are able to protect the citizens of Phoenix. Inadequate funding makes it impossible for community policing to occur, and puts both officers and citizens lives at risk.
I demand. that the Phoenix City Council allocate $3 million to the Office of Accountability and Transparency and Civilian Review Board in the 2020-2021 budget. I oppose the proposed increase of funds for the Phoenix Police Department.
Phoenix PD is the deadliest police force in the nation. I am in strong opposition to an increase in their funding, especially when services like education, environmental programs, mental health programs, public transit, and after-school care programs are so underfunded. Pay attention to what's happening in this country. I am in STRONG opposition to an increase in funding. We must establish a civilian review board in order to have a check on the police who kill the most civilians in the nation.
I fully oppose the budget which allocates nearly 1 BILLION dollars to Phoenix police and peanuts to public housing, health care, and education. Phoenix police are notorious for murdering civilians. Why would the city council reward them with a $25M budget increase? The logic here is insane and impossible to rationalize. The entire city, country, and even the world is watching. Do the right thing and reduce the PD budget dramatically. Release the protesters. Fund the CRB. NOW.
Please reconsider the proposed $944,680,555 allocated to our “public safety” department. We ask that you instead redirect towards community development & community enrichment. In order to prevent crime, and not simply over-police disenfranchised communities, we must invest in in Mental Health, Education/After-School Care, Adequate Housing, Healthcare, & Employment. It has been proven time and time again that more police in an area simply increases crime, and does not protect the community.
I am STRONGLY OPPOSED. Fund the Phoenix Citizens Review Board NOW. Fund it fully & hold violent cops accountable for their crimes against citizens & visitors. Fill it with non-political hires & then DO WHAT THEY TELL YOU TO DO.
