Please consider reallocating the proposed funds for the areas labeled under "public safety" within the tentative 2020-21 Annual Budget. Our state has an enormous homeless population and is one of the lowest ranked for education in the country. The amount of prosperity that could be achieved if we focused on prevention instead of punishment would inevitably increase the financial standing of Phoenix. Mental health, education, affordable housing, and living wages should be precedent.

Defund the police and fund our community. Arizona’s education is one of the lowest in the country and we need to change that.

Please reconsider the proposed $944,680,555 allocated to our public safety department for the 2020-21 fiscal year. Our community asks that you increase budgets for community development & community enrichment. The city of Phoenix needs policing alternatives/investments in Mental Health,Trauma services, Education/After-School Care, Adequate Housing, Healthcare, & Employment Opportunities. Defund the Phoenix PD and Allocate funds to policies &programs that will create and sustain a Safe Community.

I demand that the Phoenix City Council allocate $3 million to the Office of Accountability and Transparency and Civilian Review Board in the 2020 - 2021 budget.

I strongly urge, and demand, the Phoenix City Council to reconsider the proposed $944,680,555 allocated to our public safety department for the 2020-21 fiscal year. I am asking that the funds be redirected to programs that heal and educate our community. Increase the proposed $24,760,742 and $26,837,014 budgets for community development and community enrichment.

I oppose the proposed increase of funds for the Phoenix police department. As the city ranked highest in the country for cases of police killing civilians, increasing funds to the Phoenix police department is a gross misunderstanding of what our community needs. I ask that you redirect funds from the Phoenix police to education and health programs, which enrich and heal the community. We deserve programs and policies that invest in our community's health and well-being.

I oppose the allocation of $944,680,555 to the Public Safety Department for the 2020-21 FY. The City of Phoenix Police Department has a deplorable record of violence, including having the highest number of police shootings in the country in 2018. I join many other community members in demanding that funds be re-allocated to community development and community enrichment. Police reform has proven ineffective - it's time to defund Phoenix PD and begin directly investing community-led initiatives.

As a citizen and taxpayer, I urge you to reconsider the proposed $944,680,555 budget for public safety and reallocate funds to community enrichment/development, mental health services, health care, education, after-school care, and other social services. "We're asking cops to do too much in this country...every societal failure, we put it off on the cops to solve." -Former Dallas Police Chief David Brown. Let's reallocate responsibilities & funds to community-led social service organizations.

I strongly oppose any the current budget as it stands and allocation of financial resources to the police department. A Civilian Review Board must be established. We are tired of living in an unchecked police state where our schools and infrastructure are underfunded and the police force is outfitted to look like an invading army. This is ridiculous. I would also like to note that I'm a voter in Sal DiCiccio's district, I will do my best to see that this is your last term.

PPD's budget is ridiculous. $900 million for the deadliest police force in the country. $24 million for programs that actually promote community safety and well being. I live in a neighborhood that doesn't even have sidewalks.
CRB is an essential first step to ensuring safety and respect of all, especially black and poc, city of phoenix residents.

As a concerned citizen of Arizona, I must urge you to reconsider the $944,680,555 being allocated to the Public Safety Dept. for the upcoming 2020-2021 fiscal year. Our community asks you to redirect funds to programs that heal and educate our community by increasing the budgets to Community Enrichment and Community Development.

If you do not fund the police you WILL have more crime. When will law abiding citizens of ALL races be able to stop worrying if they are going to be the next victim of a criminal? Criminals do not care about anyone but themselves. This is not a race question. Police come in all races, religions, sexual preference, etc. They are HUMAN! Crime is Crime. Stop caving to those who do not want to follow the rules. They are not the majority, just the loudest.

We need to invest in our community's wellbeing. We need to allocate resources where they are needed most instead of funneling money into a system that has failed us time and time gain. I demand that the Phoenix City Council allocate $3 million to the Office of Accountability and Transparency and Civilian Review Board in the 2020 - 2021 budget.

I support the Phoenix Police Department and every other Policing Department. Officers take on a job that many of us do not want and face what many of us fear. They are so easily judged but are rarely understood. They consistently choose to put on that uniform to protect their community, despite the lack of support and respect they need. They absolutely deserve to be paid more for the commitment they give and negative outlook they receive but continue to serve on.

Phoenix PD came into my neighborhood, tear-gassing and pepper spraying protestors, and arrested many folks who weren't even part of the protests - some coming home from work, and some standing in their own lawns just witnessing and recording what was happening.

With the Covid-19 pandemic, we will need to reassess what our priorities are. The police budget is a bloated monstrosity, and we are asking for the funds to be redirected to things like OAT, affordable housing, and mental health.

I demand that funding for the CRB be restored. Allocating $3 million to the Office of Accountability and Transparency and Civilian Review Board in the 2020 - 2021 budget is a minimum starting point to holding police accountable and ensuring civilian oversight of law enforcement in our city.

Defund the Phoenix Police Department. The police force has shown no accountability for their abuse of power or compassion for the lives of the people they should be protecting. To fund them as they are now is to continue to reward a corrupt system that perpetuates violence and racial bias. The people of this state are tired of the injustice. Allocate more funding to programs that will actually help the community. This needs to be priority. Invest in education and healthcare.

The Phoenix Police Department is statistically ranked one of the highest in the country for cases of police killing civilians. Police forces across the country have proven that diversifying and implementing various trainings have not and will not end police brutality.
