I strongly support passing the budget and I strongly support the Phoenix Police Department. How can the Department provide training if they are left without proper funding? How can the Department keep enough officers on hand in times of crisis like what we are seeing now without proper funding? Phoenix, AZ is rapidly growing and is currently the 5th largest city in the United States. We cannot keep this city safe without this budget to fund the men and women who keep us safe.

I am asking that the City Council allocates $3 million to the Office of Accountability and Transparency and Civilian Review Board in the 2020-2021 budget. Having an independent board that is sufficiently funded is essential to ensure that civilians' concerns about Phoenix PD are taken seriously.

I support funding if the PD. This is the 5th largest city in the country and they are at 50% capacity. They have to borrow supplies from other cities and ask for donations to get sanitizer and wipes? Are you kidding me? Calls are backed up in the double digits. You want a quality PD? You think this is the answer? This will only hurt the city. You want to hire quality officers, give them some incentive and support to risk their lives trying to help their community, instead of stripping more away.

Please reconsider the proposed $944,680,555 allocated to our public safety department for the 2020-21 fiscal year. Our community asks that you redirect funds to programs that heal and educate our community. I also ask for more help providing shelter to people experiencing homelessness. The number of unsheltered people experiencing homelessness has been rising by a staggering amount for years in our community, and something must be done to help these people.

I do not agree that so much money is being taken out of community resources that help people and make Phoenix a better place to live and being put into a police force that has a track record of hurting my community. With the additional community resources, I and my family will be able to continue contributing to this city and to this country.

Phoenix should have more funds allocated to community services and education to help the community instead of putting more money into public safety.

Please reconsider the proposed $944,680,555 allocated to our public safety department for the 2020-21 fiscal year. Our community asks that you redirect funds to programs that heal and educate our community. Increase the proposed $24,760,742 and $26,837,014 budgets for community development and community enrichment. Defund the Phoenix PD and allocate 2020-21 city funds to policies and programs that will create a safe community

The phoenix police department does not need additional funding. I have been a resident of Phoenix for over a decade and this money needs to go to programs that will better our community. Not destroy it. Our militarized state has been a disappointment for too long.

I have lived in Phoenix my whole life. I love this city, I love the people but we need to do better. The police need to protect the people and must be held accountable. We have the deadliest police force in the country. I demand that the Phoenix City Council allocate $3 million to the Office of Accountability and Transparency and Civilian Review Board in the 2020 - 2021 budget.

I oppose a budget increase to the Phoenix police department. That is money that could go to the fully funding the CRB and OAT.
I demand that the Phoenix City Council allocate $3 million to the Office of Accountability and Transparency and Civilian Review Board in the 2020 - 2021 budget.

Arizona is ranked as being the 3rd lowest in education and the 3rd highest in police brutality. Defund Phoenix police.

I demand that the Phoenix City Council allocate $3 million to the Office of Accountability and Transparency and Civilian Review Board in the 2020 - 2021 budget. $400,000 is NOT ENOUGH. Look at what is going on in your City this last week. The PEOPLE demand action, not empty symbolism. By the numbers, the Phoenix Police Department is the DEADLIEST FORCE in the country. Why are we rewarding their bad behavior with no accountability and more funding?

These funds need to be directed away from PHX PD and go towards sustaining a safe community!

I oppose a budget increase to the Phoenix police department. This budget should be allocated for community development and community enrichment. Our city deserves policing alternatives and investments in our community. The Phoenix Police Department is statistically ranked one of the highest in the country for cases of police killing civilians.

I requesting you to support to the agenda items for our Phoenix Fire Department and Phoenix Police Department. Support and fund the following items on the agenda; 64, 65, 77, 78, 79, 80, 82, and 83. We need to have staffing for our First Responders and proper equipment as mentioned in the agenda items. If possible reallocate some of the funding for training our First Responders on how to protect themselves and anyone who is breaking the law.

I oppose such a large allocation of funds for the Phoenix Police. More of these funds should be redirected towards programs that build community and prevent crime (social work, education, etc). I resist my tax dollars being used to give additional resources to a violent police force.
