I oppose the Police Department budget. Far too many funds are being sent to the Police Department while other problems are left unattended. Public transportation is lacking and people are always complaining about the state of the roads. Funds for the department are better used towards other development.

I do not support increasing finding to the Phoenix police. The funding should be reallocated to organizations and projects within black communities. Hold the Phoenix police responsible for their actions.

I strongly oppose the increase in budget for the Phoenix PD. Please increase funding in areas that will materially benefit the community, such as transportation and community development.

I oppose the adoption of the budget because it allocates far too much money to the Phoenix Police Department. The Phoenix PD shot an extremely high number of citizens in 2018, resisted the kind of civilian oversight common in other major cities, and demonstrated no willingness to change or reform. I support the OAT and believe no money should go to the Phoenix PD unless the OAT is fully resourced.

I strongly oppose the nearly 1 billion dollar funding of the Phoenix Police Department. This money would make a much more positive impact if used on underfunded public schools, struggling communities, and reducing homelessness versus on a department that continues to use unnecessary violence and kills a disproportionate number of POC.

As a tax payer, I oppose having to fund the PHX PD with my hard earned money. Funds should be allocated to proceeds such as the education, housing for minority in needs, and healthcare.

As a tax payer I strongly oppose the increase in funding a broken system that refuses to protect and serve the POC in its communities. Put that funding to some actual good use.

It’s time that we reallocate funds from this exorbitant sum towards something more productive like EDUCATION

Support the budget. People in my community are constantly calling the police for burglaries, vandalism, trespassing, noise complaints, etc. Then those same people say they don't support the police. It makes no sense. Everyone relies on a fully staffed and fully equipped law enforcement. Pass the budget!

I oppose the increase in budget for the public safety. Reallocate the funds to community development

I strongly oppose the proposed $944M budget for public safety. Using this funding to secure better technology and add more police does not remove the root cause of unjust that we see in our state, and in our country. For the safety and well-being of the people of Arizona, our funding should be directed to programs and services that will help our community as a whole, such as social and educational services, housing, and healthcare.

The budget allocated is egregiously high for “public safety” when the Phoenix PD is the deadliest force in the country. We need more funding dispersed across the board for community development, transportation, housing, etc.

It's time we reallocate the funds for the Phoenix Police Department to pour those funds into the communities historically and systematically marginalized. It is time that we stop providing the means to continue weaponizing one of the most violent forces in the nation. Instead put this money into community efforts to provide food, shelter, mental health services and education.

Our community is opposing the disparity between the amount of police department funding and the amount of funding for programs like community development/enrichment, environmental services. The Phoenix PD is statistically ranked one of the highest in the country for cases of police killing civilians. We are urging the increased restriction of the PPD and the diversion of its proposed funding to policies and programs that create and sustain better health and education in communities.

I strongly oppose the proposed increase to the Phoenix PD’s allocated budget. The department has done a poor job at ensuring the safety of citizens, and has a long history of domestic terrorism. The funds should go towards community enrichment, education, housing, healthcare, employment assistance, transportation, and infrastructure. The police department needs improved training and hiring standards before they deserve our tax dollars. Police brutality needs to end.

As a hardworking tax payer I demand that you reconsider directing funds to a PD that has been rated lethal to it's own civilians and instead demand you direct those funds to future community development. Hold PHX PD accountable for their actions. Do Not Reward Them.

These funds should be allocated to different programs that could enhance the community. I strongly oppose the Phoenix PD getting more funding. As a Phoenix native, we should want better for our community. Please do what will help the citizens of the city.

As a tax payer, I strongly oppose increasing the funding for the Phoenix Police Department. Instead, I think this funding should be allocated for community enrichment - specifically, programs that support civilian oversight, mental health and trauma services, education, after-school care, adequate housing, healthcare, and employment opportunities. I do not believe our community will truly be safe until we take the power out of the hands of the police and give it back to the people. Thank you.

With the PHX PD ranked as the highest in the country for police killing civilians, I do not support this. As a PHX resident, I have HAD IT with this racist, abusive and oppressive police force.

This money should be allocated to healthcare (mental included), education, housing, community organizations specifically for minorities, small businesses, and sustainability measures.

I oppose my tax dollars being put towards the police. We need to put more funds into community support and actions that actually keep us safe. Arizona is one of the worst states for police shootings and it can’t be justified that we continue to support that without reform.
