I strongly oppose the CPLC. The average income for this zip code is around $35k. This project would put profits before people. Arizona should be prioritizing affordable housing so we do not face the housing crisis so many other cities are facing. This project does the opposite, creating unaffordable housing for the residents in this area and pricing them out. Put our community and residents first.

This ordinance will not protect the vulnerable members of the South Mountain Village, and it will not be affordable like it claims. Displacement is a part of gentrification.

I strongly oppose the CPLC development. CPLC is using a metric that does not apply to Arizona cost of living in order to shoehorn in unaffordable housing. To support this proposal is to support the displacement of the black community of South Phoenix, which is unconscionable in my opinion. We need affordable housing alternatives to guarantee shelter for all! People over property!

I oppose the CPLC development project. Those involved in this project refused to engage with the Black community and address concerns that it will displace already-vulnerable members of the community. We need affordable housing, NOT more gentrification. People over property, always.

The City of Phoenix needs to prioritize people over property. This development would only displace South Phoenix residents. CPLC is exploitative, maximizing profit by skewing numbers and supporting predatory development practices. I oppose.

I oppose this measure based on the proposal not taking into account the needs of the Black community in south Phoenix and the displacement that it will cause.

When a developer is proposing a project in a neighborhood with a 25% Black population, in the middle of a million dollar block (a city block where the state is spending in excess of a million dollars a year to incarcerate the residents), with an 81% recidivism rate, but refuses to engage local Black leadership on issues of housing accessibility for people formerly incarcerated; that developer is anti-Black and should be denied.

I oppose this development because it displaces low income people from their current residences.

I oppose this proposal. Please vote no. Please do not allow the displacement of residents that live in south Phoenix. Please put this community first!

On behalf of Chispa AZ, we oppose the CPLC application. This proposal does not center the community and failed to include Black community members and leaders. The Village Planning Committee denied this project and the Council should too. At Chispa AZ we support investment in public spaces. They must be rooted in the community most affected by decisions into the process, this proposal is the antithesis of putting community first. Please prioritize the community and oppose the proposal.

The city must vote NO on the CLPC proposed development project They have already demonstrated predatory development practices by LYING about the affordability in the area they plan on developing by using statistics in other areas of the county. The continued displacement of people and community members of this city through gentrification is UNACCEPTABLE.

The city must vote no on the CPLC proposed development. The development will not be affordable for current residents in the ares, which will result in their eventual displacement and the gentrification of the area. This unacceptable.

Phoenix needs development that has goals aligned with the current community living in the area, not a goal to displace community members in favor of wealthier people. Shame on the City Council if they vote to allow CPLC to proceed with this project. Listen to the Village Planning Committee who denied this project.

CPLC refused to engage with local Black leadership in South Phoenix regarding this development project. Their lack of cooperation with this community demonstrates an appalling apathy towards Black voices. This is an obvious and deliberate choice prioritizing profit and property over people. I urge the city council to vote NO on this proposal and support our South Phoenix community.

This proposal could displace families and make owning and renting homes unaffordable.

CPLC's proposal does not center those impacted by health disparity in the South Mountain Village. CPLC's claimed affordability is based on the MFI for Maricopa and parts of Pinal County, which is double the actual AMI of the project's local zip code. Therefore this project will displace residents of these communities. If the city's goal is to provide healthy communities, the city council should vote against the CPLC as it will cause harm to the families who reside in the South Mountain Village.

Follow the lead of the Village Planning Committee who DENIED approving the CPLC project based on the harm it will do in the community. Show your commitment to healthy communities for people who helped you get into office. DENY CPLC their zone request.
