Do not conflate public safety with a large police budget. This is a narrative we've been fed for years; now we need leadership to question whether allocating $63m to a police dept w a budget that already dwarfs other budget line items is truly the best solution for the most dire problems. Record heat, water cutbacks, record # of ppl w/o homes: these core sustainability problems will not be solved by an ever increasing police budget. A sustainable 21st cent. city must center equity. Vote no.

Our law enforcement personnel NEED a decent living wage. We as a population need protection and I am sick and tired of the filth, crime and disgusting conditions leftist policies have inflicted on a once proud and successful city.

PPD has cost the city millions in lawsuits and already has a bloated budget while you allow other departments to be ineffective and ultimately harmful. Voting yes on this budget rewards the continued legacy of disgusting and violent actions of PHX PD and further disenfranchises the people you claim to serve. Invest in the needs of the people! Vote NO!

It is critical that the City of Phoenix as the largest City (geographically and in population) in the State remains competitive in our market. Please vote yes so that we can ensure that we are recruiting the best law enforcement officers for this great City. The market has and continues to experience dramatic changes and this proposal is supported by data and surveys of pay of our region. Let’s do the right thing and vote yes.

With this pay structure the city of Phoenix will be able to bring in candidates from other agencies, states, and the military allowing the COP to be able to pick from the cream of the crop. Thus bringing back integrity, honor, and respect to our department and to our city. We’ll be able to impact crime with more officers on the street!

Please vote yes to support the men and women in blue. We are the 5th largest city in the US. We need to have salaries that support the workload and number of people served.

Kate, your previous decisions tell us your progressive ideals and ‘feminism’ have no intersectionality and embrace the lie that more policing and prison time keeps us safe. This form of carceral feminism is a white perspective as only white women have the luxury of believing that policing is protection. Black, Brown, and Indigenous people have been telling you and the council that this system was created solely to cage and kill them. Vote NO! Invest in community, not cops! #NoPiggyPayRaise

PLEASE PLEASE support this! We need a strong PPD! Especially with so many illegals pouring over our border! Even our neighborhood (off of 32nd St and Union) which used to be considered a "good neighborhood" has had 2 shootings in the last 6 months! Lets compensate our police for the increasingly difficult job they do! After all, what in the world would the people opposing this do if they were in danger because of a criminal?? Who would they call? It makes no sense not to support our police!

Please support this item .This will help the city compete with other cities in the state of Az in attracting and retaining the best people possible. 76% of the Phx voters support increased police funding. Our violent crime rates have risen by 24% Public Safety must be the #1 priority for the mayor and council. Please support this item and work to make this city safe again. The ideas that some of our councilors have tried to force on all the citizens of phx. have led to nothing but rampant crime.

Betty, Yass, Laura, Carlos, and Kate you must VOTE NO! You claim to care about your constituents, yet ignore the violence PPD inflicts on Black, brown and indigenous folx everyday. You actively work against their demands by further funding the nation’s most deadly police force. Do not perpetuate white violence by addressing serious issues with carceral feminism. We repeat: PPD must be DEFUNDED. Do NOT vote to increase a pay raise for state sanctioned violence. Policing is NOT safety. Vote NO!

Public Safety is such an important and integral part of our Cities system of resource management and care. It is imperative that we continue to attract and retain talent within the Police Department. We have to be competitive with the marketplace and provide the right compensation for their services. It’s about time that we do the right thing to support our officers that often put themselves in harms way for the safety of the rest of us! Please vote YES!

Please vote yes to increase Law Enforcement pay. Hopefully council will all help get more Police hired.
We need 3000 more for PHX to be safe.
There's bullets flying every night in my District 08. There's theft, assault drug on every corner. We need Police to stay. If Carlos Yassamin Laura Betty don't care about Public Safety and our childrens safety, then step down. We need council who cares about our safety. Add more Police to stop child sex trafficking. Enough is enough.
