I urge you to reallocate funds from the Phoenix police department to policing alternatives, education, housing, employment, mental health, and other services for the holistic wellbeing of community.
I strongly oppose the proposed $944,680,555 for our public safety department for the 2020-21 fiscal year. Our community is asking that you instead increase the proposed $24,760,742 and $26,837,014 budgets for community development and community enrichment, and $3 mil to the Civilian Review Board for police accountability. We must prioritize healing and growth in our community over further militarization of our police force. Prioritize justice and dismantling oppression and police brutality.
I oppose the proposed allocation of funds in the amount of $944,648,555 to the Public Safety Department for the 2020-2021 fiscal year.
Until the Phoenix Police Department can reform their policies regarding excessive force, these funds should be redirected to organizations and programs that provide essential services to the community.
Please increase the proposed $24,760,741 and $26,837,104 budgets for community development and enrichment programs.
I am demanding the Phoenix City Council allocate $3 million to the Office of Accountability and Transparency and Civilian Review Board in the 2020 - 2021 budget on June 3rd.

I am opposed to an increase in police funding and ask that the money be redirected to the Office of Accountability and Transparency and Civilian Review Board.
Instead of spending money on a police force that has one of the most civilians killed, why don’t we spend more money on teachers, as this is one of the lowest ranked states in education.
I strongly oppose the allocation of more than $900 million in police funding. I don't want my taxpaying dollars to go into supporting police brutality which further threatens Black and Brown lives. Please use these funds to increase the proposed $24,760,742 and $26,837,014 budgets for community development and community enrichment.
I am an Arizona resident and urging you to reconsider the proposed funds allocated to our public safety department for the 2020-21 fiscal year. Our community asks that you redirect funds to programs that heal and educate our community instead of more police equipment and budget.
Please reconsider the proposed $944,680,555 allocated to our public safety department for the 2020-21 fiscal year. Our community kindly asks you that you redirect funds to programs that help, heal, and educate our community in many other ways. Increase the proposed $24,760,742 and $26,837,014 budgets for community development and enrichment. Defund the Phoenix PD and allocate 2020-21 city funds to policies and programs that will create and sustain a safe community.
Please consider allocating the funds that are being given to public safety to other areas of the budget that are actually effective and will improve the lives of the people that you represent.

I echo what many of my fellow Phoenicians are requesting- we need to reduce the money allocated to the Phoenix PD and redirect that money to fund a program of civilian oversight of the Department. We need to encourage a dialogue between the Phoenix PD and communities that are disproportionately affected by police violence. This is not a radical proposition and civilian oversight would be a positive step towards healing the relationship between Phoenix communities and the Phoenix PD.
We need this money allocated elsewhere. Please redirect the money towards other public resources! We cannot condone the high amount of civilian killings that the PHX PD has produced.

Our community asks that you redirect funds to programs that heal and educate our community. Increase the proposed $24,760,742 and $26,837,014 budgets for community development and community enrichment. Allocate more than just $400,000 to the Police Civilian Review Board.

I think this budget should allocate more money to community development and less to law enforcement.
