I oppose the proposed budget. I oppose funding to the Police force, and would implore you to reconsider and redirect these funds to Fire and Medical services, mental health resources, social services, education, housing, and employment services.

I demand that the Phoenix City Council allocate $3 million to the Office of Accountability and Transparency and Civilian Review Board in the 2020 - 2021 budget.

Please reconsider the proposed budget increase in excess of $944 million to public safety. I ask that you redirect a portion of these funds to heal and educate our community. We must increase funding to community development and enrichment efforts to effect change that is well-rounded and sustainable for the city of Phoenix.

I am an Arizona resident and urging you to reconsider the proposed funds allocated to our public safety department for the 2020-21 fiscal year. Our community asks that you redirect funds to programs that heal and educate our community instead of more police equipment and budget.

I oppose the $944,680,555 allocated to Public Safety, we need to reduce police spending and redirect funds towards the Civilian Review Board and community enrichment and development.

By June 17th, defund the police by 25% and move that money into programs that create safe and healthy communities!
Pass a budget that prioritizes community health and not police pay raises!
Pass a budget that supports police accountability!
End collaboration between Phoenix Police and ICE!
Show us your plan to fundraise $3 million for the undocumented fund!

The City of Phoenix must fully fund civilian oversight of the police department. This week's protests are due to a lack of accountability by police. Now is the time to invest and move forward. #FundthePHXCRB

The Phoenix PD is statistically ranked highest in the country for cases of police killing civilians.
Allocate 2020-21 city funds to policies and programs that will create and sustain a safe community.

Allocate $3 million to the Office of Accountability and Transparency and Civilian Review Board. This is clearly an issue of importance and relevance to the people of Phoenix. Police accountability is only possible with proper funding.

The council was right to move forward with civilian review. Now it is time to fully resource it with a $3 million appropriation.

If the stated police budget numbers are accurate, is it reasonable that less than .1% of the police budget is allocated to the Office of Accountability and Transparency and Civilian Review Board when my "public safety" is in jeopardy any time I am pulled over? The 2020-2021 budget request for OAT/CRB should be completely funded.

I strongly oppose this budget. It has been year after year that the city wants to add more funding to an already MASSIVE police budget. In addition, the PHX PD have been among the most violent and deadliest police forces in the nation. I am confused on why the city would want to fund them even more. Defund the police by at least 25% and put these funds into enriching our communities. Invest in people, NOT criminalization.

Fund the Office of Accountability and Transparency (OAT) and Civilian Review Board (CRB). Currently the Council has budgeted $400,000 for the OAT and the CRB. This is far lower than the original projected budget of $2.5M-$4M and woefully inadequate.

I oppose the proposed budget. Reconsider the proposed funds allocated to our public safety department for the 2020-2021 fiscal year. Phoenix needs this funding to be redirected to programs such as education, mental health, trauma services, housing, employment, and healthcare among others. In order to make this possible, you must increase the proposed $24,760,742 and $25,837,014 budgets. I oppose any funding to the Phoenix Police.

I am asking that you redirect funds from the Phoenix Police to programs that heal and educated our communities. The City of Phoenix is statistically ranked the highest in the country for cases of police killing civilians. Police forces across the entire country have proved that implementing various trainings have not and will not end police brutality. The City of Phoenix deserves programs that build our vulnerable communities up and make them feel safe, not create a sense of fear and distrust.

I am a nurse who resides in Phoenix and has been taking care of Covid19 patients in NY. I am very concerned for Phoenix communities that are going to be most affected by this ongoing pandemic. I would like to see an emphasis on community public health spending instead of any increase in the Phoenix PD budget. I would also like to see the Community Review Board fully funded and all cooperation between the department and ICE eliminated.
    Thank you.

Arizona's education funding is one of the lowest in the nation - it is abysmal and embarrassing. I urge you to redirect some of the $945 million that is earmarked for the PPD and reallocate it to K-12 education and other programs that will have beneficial and long-lasting impacts on our community and the future of our community.

I ask that you redirect funds from Phoenix Police to programs that heal and educate our community. The Phoenix PD is statistically ranked highest in the country for cases of police killing civilians. Allocate 2020-21 city funds to programs like policing alternatives and investments in mental health, trauma services, education and after school care, adequate and affordable housing, healthcare, employment opportunities, and sustainability programs.
