I Fully support funding the police and keeping the budget as is. It would be a grave misstep to decrease funding for the Phoenix Police Department. I believe it would have a negative impact on the residents of Phoenix.

I fully support the police department and think that cutting the budget of the men and women that protect and serve our communities is not a solution

Police officer need their budget for proper training so Phoenix does not end up like other cities. The budget helps with safety equipment amongst other things.

Phoenix PD have consistantly proven that they are not here to serve and protect—they're here to terrorize the community and grossly abuse their power. To be in favor of the budget proposal as it stands is to be in favor of perpetuating the terror and abuse. Police violence doesn't deter crime, and mass incarceration has proven to make communities less safe. We're beyond the point of a reform; the only way to make Phoenix safer is to defund Phoenix PD and reinvest in our struggling communities.

I gladly support the Phoenix police department funds as the funds are required to support the investigation details and The everyday emergency responding operations. The budget is definitely important as it is whats keeping the police department functioning properly and providing required and advanced training to officers.

We can't expect more body cameras or training to help our police do better if we take away the funding that can do that. We need to hold the police accountable for the mandate we have given them, but we should fund the police and hold them and all our leaders accountable with our votes. Education and voting is the key to real change - taking money from other areas of the budget right now is an emotional response that will hurt all of the people in our community later in many areas.

Reduce the operating budget for the PPD and reinvest in our communities. This money is better spent on housing, mental heath outreach, and increasing funding for education. Fully fund the civilian oversight board.

Please refuse to adopt a city budget until significant funding cuts are made to the Phoenix Police Department of at least 50% and the money is reallocated to support affordable housing, community health, community development, and the full funding of the Community Oversight Board.

I support the original budget. Knee jerk reactions that decrease police funding are not the answer to today's problems. Fewer officers and longer emergency response times won't solve anything. We need to retain and attract quality officers to keep Phx safe and having less resources won't accomplish that goal. Councilman Nowakowski we're counting on you to do the right thing here.

I strongly support the funding of our first responders. They can not support our communities with the appropriate funding and support of our city.

I support our law enforcement team. Without the proper and adequate funding for the men and women who risk their lives for their communities, they cannot appropriately provide help to those who need it or protect themselves when facing danger. We need to make sure that funding is not cut.

I fully support funding the police. It is very important to keep up with training, equipment, and mental health services. The city needs trained personnel to respond to critical situations.

I fully support funding the police! The LAST thing Phoenix needs, it's less resources and training for their officers. DO NOT defund the Phoenix police.
Honestly, I'm horrified it's even being considered.

The police are the only thing between law abiding citizens and criminals. Most police have some sort of medical training as well to be able to keep you alive in case of an emergency and they are first on the scene. By patrolling alone they offer an awesome deterrent for criminals seeking to commit crime. They help in more ways than I can list with a 500 character limit. Support the safety of the defenseless, the weak, and the ignorant...

Phoenix needs every bit of funding in this budget! Phoenix did not kill George Floyd!

If you want to make change, you have to be the change! Train for the end result you want!

The budget as it stands is a drastically disproportionate allocation of taxpayer money. Our police force does not need almost 1 BILLION when the citys homeless population is walking the streets, sometimes barefoot, in 100+ degree weather. We need to reallocate funds to departments like community services, THE OFFICE OF ARTS AND CULTURE WHICH IS ABOUT TO LOOSE ITS STATE FUNDING, and offices that help reduce crime by tackling the source of what makes people violent- housing, healthcare, and jobs.

I support funding for our first responders all day everyday! More training means more effective community service!
