I absolutely support the funding for police and fire. We cannot take funding from those who protect and serve us everyday.

Our budget needs pass without adding another 2.5 million. Our officers do a wonderful job and the law abiding silent majority should not suffer because of the loud radical few!

I appeal to Council to pass the budget as presented to support our officers that protect our city. Our PPD is underfunded and undermanned. PPD are primary to the city’s infrastructure. PPD needs to have confidence Council will provide them with staffing to keep our citizens safe. The last several nights are proof our officers are professionals; we should support them with the budget funds to sustain the current staffing levels and increase to hire new officers. We support our PPD!

Pass the budget without any cuts or amendments. Revenues are unstable and dipping in the contingency fund is irresponsible and jeopardizes shared revenues both state and federal. Any cuts to public safety is asinine OAT is already in the proposed budget use those funds for community programs

NOW is the time to fully fund the Civilian Review Board and the Office of Accountability and to reallocate $25 million from the Police budget to programs that better serve the community. The unrest we see in Phoenix will not, should not, stop until we see better accountability of police. This first step to much-needed reform is needed to start the healing.

I support full funding for the Phoenix police department and fire department. They willingly go to work day after day and risk their lives for the citizens even in the midst of so much unjustified anger and hatred towards them. These men and women deserve your support and respect. Please give them a much needed raise. They took paycuts during the recession to help preserve jobs for Phoenix and they have had to fight just to get back to where they were 10 years ago.

I fully support the original proposal and allocations of funds for police. Defunding the police is only going to prevent further training and diversity in the police department. Fully funding and supporting the police allows for additional training and officers to protect the streets. Allocation of the funds to go towards another civilian oversight board is a complete waste of funding towards a political agenda. Fund the police!

I am writing to ask council members to refuse to adopt a city budget until significant funding cuts are made to the Phoenix Police Department and the money is reallocated to support affordable housing, community health, community development, and the full funding of the Community Oversight Board.

Please do not consider defunding our public safety! As a first responder family, I cannot imagine cuts being made to our front line men and women!

I support the budget as is. How are the officers supposed to receive training to make them better if we take away their funding? How are we as citizens supposed to rely on the police to protect us without funding an understaffed department? The councilmembers who want to defund the police are not using logical thinking and do not care about the citizens. They are scared of backlash and cant see past their hate for the police. Garcia is a danger to the city. Get him out now. Fund the police.

I support the budget. Phoenix PD needs the funds to hire and train a diverse workforce that reflects the population it serves. How can defunding the police be a viable option for any city? They have been working with less for years and it’s about time they have the resources they need to do their jobs! Do no spend more money on oversight when it already exists.

Taking funds from the police department is ludicrous. We might as well say we don’t want our city to be a destination at all. Ask Flint, MI how it is having an overworked and underfunded police department.

I encourage a reallocation of resources towards services that target the needs of the community without the atmosphere of violence, such as social work and counseling services. These should play a larger role in how the state responds to the needs of the community.
