The unequal amount of funds being allocated towards the PHXPD should be redistributed to other areas such as Community Development and Community Enrichment. It's time to start defunding the police department.

OPPOSE!! Do not give Phx PD another penny of increases while they continue to be the most lethal PD in the nation using excessive force on a daily basis. PLEASE LISTEN to your constituents . We do not want more police ,they do not keep us safe!!!! We want more education funding, more beds for homeless, more healthcare and meals for kids!!!!

The PHX PD does not need more funding. There are a multitude of systems that will not only support and benefit the citizens of Phoenix, but more importantly not subject us to the current brutality the police inflicts. We demand that these funds be redirected towards other institutions and systems that will help our community stay safe and protected.

Defunding the PPD will allow the funds to be allocated elsewhere, such as community development or human services. This will benefit and strengthen our community.

The budget is extremely disproportional when it comes to police funding compared to economic and community services, housing, and human services. We need to invest money into our communities and schools. The Phoenix police do not need $744 MILLION dollars while other programs hardly reach $100 million dollars - programs that would do much more good for our citizens than the police will. The Phoenix Police are one of the top in the country for the amount of police shootings and killings in the US

Police in Phoenix have too many responsibilities. The violence and drug problems we face are not because people are inherently bad. We face these problems because you have failed them. We need to fix the issue at the root of the problem. Please reconsider the budget. Redirect the money that would have gone to Phoenix Police to housing, human services, and community development. Funding these services will fix the issue at the source instead of leaving the problem for the Police to later handle.

The safety of our community should be of the upmost priority to this council. It is both responsibility & obligation. The PHX PD continue to prove to be a violent threat to all lives, but specifically Black/Brown folk through the use of profiling, unlawful behavior, & excessive use of force. Reallocating the budget to social programs and education via mental health services, crisis response teams, advocacy, schools etc. we are able to ensure a safer more vibrant city and state for all people.

Council members, it is your job to listen to the community and do what is asked. Vote no on more money to a police department that harms and kills its people. The people want more efficient community resources and the money to fund those type of resources should come from funds the city has stolen to give the police. Make the right decision to bring health and healing to the community not more threatening and violent policing.

Do not pass this budget! The police do not need nor deserve our money. Put the money back into education and the community.

I oppose the funding going to PHXPD, defund and demilitarize the police. Allocate the money into our communities; education, social services, housing our homeless!
