I fully support a mandatory face mask policy for the City of Phoenix. This is a way to protect all of us and to stop the spread of the Covid-19 virus. Already, members of my own family have tested positive for the virus, including my sister and my nieces and nephews. One of these individuals is immune-compromised and at high risk. Please help to protect other members of our community from people who may not even know they have the virus. Phoenix needs to be a leader in stopping this disease!

I just moved to AZ from NJ, to escape a tyrannical govt.
I cannot believe, here I am again FIGHTING FOR MY RIGHTS AS AN AMERICAN CITIZEN.
It’s not an easy decision. This issue is as divisive as they get, so there MUST BE CHOICE.
This is America. FREEDOM is why people flee their country for ours.
Eating an unhealthy diet is the worse thing you can do for yourself and chronic illness is a drain on this country, WHY ARE WE NOT MANDATING HEALTHY EATING?

It seems many people do not understand that wearing a face mask primarily protects others around you. While one may be willing to put one's own health at risk for comfort, it is this irresponsible behavior that mandates community leaders to make the hard decisions for those they serve. Others have demonstrated they are not willing to do what they must on their own accord for our shared health, despite what our public health officials say. Leaders, do the right thing.

I only oppose the mandating in Restaurants. As an owner, I feel that if customers have to wear a mask, they simply will not patronize. As you know restaurants are already having a tough time, and this may do us in for sure. Also, some servers have tried wearing them, and it is almost impossible to communicate. Also there is alot of adjusting of the mask(face touching) which may be counter productive. Please consider

I support a mandatory face mask policy for our city as a current and life-long resident of the city of Phoenix. Thank you.

I have noticed that "suspected" cases are now being included along with confirmed cases. Why is the death count continuing to go down if there is a real spike going on? You are going to kill businesses that are struggling to make it through the summer and trying to re-open after being closed for the pandemic. My tax dollars now and in the future will be spent elsewhere if you do this.

Please make face coverings in public spaces mandatory - this is the best recommendation in line with current scientific findings to protect the most vulnerable members of society. This will also provide an economic boost to AZ by allowing individuals who have been avoiding patronizing public spaces because of fear of transmission to re-engage with their communities.

I urge Phoenix City Council to mandate a city-wide mask policy. Our numbers show that we are not doing enough to stop the spread and this will be a step in the right direction. We owe it to our health care community and most vulnerable.

We need this to be mandatory! It’s the only thing we KNOW about the virus. Masks will help reduce the spread and flatten the curve.

Opposed. We will wear masks inside businesses but not outside where distancing can be maintained.

Requiring face masks is a no brainer and a life saver. Vote to require them!

As a resident of district 8 and a teacher at Cesar Chavez HS please mandate that the public has to wear masks. Thank you.

I support mandatory face masks in public spaces. Please place our safety first, do what is needed to keep our community safe when we must go out to public places such as grocery stores.
We need you to help make it more safe for those who work in those public places. Please make masks mandatory. Thank you.

I fully support the use of Face Covering/Masks. We are in a public health crisis and we cannot risk overloading our hospitals. Putting on a mask in public is a simple way everyone can participate in keeping our community safe. This is about making adjustments to our lives temporarily to help improve the situation as soon as possible.

I fully support a citywide mandate requiring the use of face masks in essential businesses and public places. AZ has seen an alarming spike in new coronavirus cases. This is unequivocally not due to an increase in testing. The virus is rapidly spreading through our community. Our governor has abdicated any responsibility for slowing the spread of covid. I urge the Phoenix City Council to take any measure they have the power to enact to keep Phoenicians safe.

I am a Phoenix resident and I fully support a mandatory face mask policy. Everyone must do their part to slow the spread of COVID-19. There are now two extensive literature reviews that provide strong support for mask use to reduce respiratory disease transmission in the community. There is also abundant evidence that masks keep particles inside the mask, which is important due to the high number of people who are infected both without symptoms and before symptoms occur.

I’m very much in favor of mandatory masks when in public. Science says it works. The Governor says it works. The numbers say it works. To do anything else simply defies logic and reason.

This native Phoenician fully supports the mask policy. Scientifically speaking we could have saved so much time, money, and HUMAN LIFE should we have required mask-wearing in public from the get-go. Instead of making scientific-based decisions, our society has sadly devolved into one where political opinions and misinformation run rampant. There are adequate, recent studies indicating that face coverings slow the spread of this virus. The people opposed to this data are threats to public health.

I wholeheartedly support a city wide face covering policy for those without breathing issues.
Clearly, from the constant increasing cases in Arizona, this is necessary to protect public health. It is not an imposition to ask that people protect our community’s health.
Considering that medical workers wear masks 8+ hours a day, wearing a mask for a few short moments while in public is not a lot to ask. People who don’t want to wear a mask can stay home/have necessities delivered.
