I support mandated wide spread use of facial mask. This is the only way other than social distancing proven to lower the spread of respiratory virus shown on multiple researches and in countries that had success in containing COVID-19 cases. Not wearing masks puts themselves and others at risk possibly risking lives of the loved ones. I work in a healthcare setting and the current trend of the COVID 19 hospitalization is very concerning.

We wear masks to protect others. To protect the vulnerable. This includes our economy. Small businesses are forced to close if one employee tests positive. Make our lives easier and less stressful. Require masks in all public spaces.

I support the wearing of face masks in public areas. Within the last couple weeks, Arizona has found itself in the unenviable position of being the fastest growing COVID hotspot in the US. Anyone who listens to the experts understands that this is preventable, and that masks are the easiest step we can take to stopping this epidemic. During WWII, Arizonans sacrificed so much to defeat fascism - now its time for us to make a much smaller and easier sacrifice - time to mask up AZ!

The first case of COVID-19 in Arizona was confirmed by ADHS on January 26, 2020. We cannot condone the Citywide Face Covering Policy in AZ, over 5 months later and assume that this will rectify the problems and errors currently taking place within Arizona. The issue of concern should be focused on the true agendas of our elected officials and how they plan to recover from the critical mistakes they've made within their own leadership due to personal gain and interest (TGEN).

As a resident of Phoenix, I urge you to support this mandatory mask measure to slow the rampant spread of coronavirus in our community. This is a small sacrifice that we can all make to save thousands of lives.

I am opposed to this. It serves no purpose outdoors. Wearing a mask only works if you leave it on and don't touch it. Leave it up to the individual person. I have trouble breathing with a mask on. It is going to cause more hysteria and protests. The Governor and the President don't even wear one voluntarily. It should be our individual right to wear or not wear a mask in public. It should be the individual right of an establishment to enforce wearing a mask too.

When people cannot make the adult decision to protect the people around them from a deadly illness, I guess it becomes a collective responsibility to force it. It's tragic people can't just do the right thing without being mandated to do so.

I am a District 4 resident and small business owner. I am 110% in full support of mandating the widespread use of masks in Phoenix. We need a citywide policy now to protect the health of the City's most valuable asset, its residents. Without a policy that ensures safety people do not have the confidence required to resume activities and reopen their businesses. The threat of being exposed to the coronavirus from people not wearing masks is bad for business and even worse for public health.

Wearing a mask when you can is good. Staying home when you can is good. Politicians mandating that people do either is anti-American and tyrannical. Please don't set this precedent.

We should be taking a note from our health providers, the CDC, and WHO. I go to work every day wearing a face mask not for myself, but for every single human in the community that I want to protect. Protect us too. Protect every small business that can go under from one sick employee, protect every immune compromised individual who's life is at risk just getting groceries. Its not just about the individual, there's no getting through this without helping each other.

I strongly oppose the mandate of wearing masks. We don't even know the truth about this virus, the information is always changing and contradictory. This is government overreach. I believe in personal responsibility and the freedom the constitution gives us.

I am a District 8 resident and I support a citywide policy mandating face masks. With the COVID cases in our state increasing by the day, it is important now more than ever for the Council to be leaders and take action. Lives are being lost because our elected officials and people of Arizona alike are not taking proper precautions to stop this virus in our state. Please do the right thing.

I am strongly in favor of a mask mandate. Masks are essential to stopping the rampant spread in Arizona.

Our economy cannot function if asymptomatic and symptomatic carriers are allowed to infect Phoenicians indiscriminately. The role of government is to ensure the health, safety and welfare of its people. ALL OF ITS PEOPLE.We have underestimated this virus, & overestimated our ability to deal with it. Routine strategies used in hospitals and health care settings to combat virus spread have not been effective. When an outbreak is out of control, even a small contribution matters.

I strongly oppose the mandate to wear masks. Please give us credit for being responsible citizens. The discussion needs to be on protecting our elderly and vulnerable not only from the virus but the mental anguish of being kept apart from their family and loved ones.
Consider children as well. There is no data on the affects of children wearing a face covering for long periods of time. The long term affects could be catastrophic.

I support this. All the data points to widespread use of masks being the most effective tool we have against COVID. Just going to the grocery store every week it’s clear that if we leave it up to the public, hardly anyone chooses to wear a mask. We are already a hot spot and people are dying. It’s not ok that my health is at risk just to buy groceries. Please require face masks in public, it’s literally the least we can do.

It has been proven that Masks do not protect from the virus! But, there are health risks to wearing one. For instance, breathing in too much carbon dioxide. It’s been proven not only are the masks unable to protect you, most people do not even wear them correctly. A majority of people touch them and their face more often than they would without the mask. The “CURVE” is “FLATTENED”! The majority, over 99% of people won’t have severe symptoms! What about pneumonia, bronchitis, etc.! This is wrong!

I'm a district 4 resident and I support a citywide policy mandating face coverings! There is clear evidence that wearing masks will save lives. Please make sure this order includes an enforcement mechanism for businesses that do not comply AND that funding is set aside for the city and law enforcement to have masks on hand to give to folks who do not have the means to acquire a mask instead of arresting/harassing them. We do not want to criminalize not having a mask just because someone is poor.

I Strongly oppose it, because it takes another freedom away I am not willing to give up. Give the American people a choice to make up their own minds!

If you are sick? Stay home!
If you are scared? Stay home!
I will never put on the mask of fear! Anybody that has had a flu shot in the last 5 years will test positive.
