We demand mandatory face masks or coverings in ALL public places, indoor and outdoor in AZ.

Forcing people to wear masks is unconstitutional. I strongly oppose this

I’m opposed to mandatory face masks. There’s scientific evidence in the medical community that shows face masks do not prevent nor stop the spread of the covid virus. Also, it’s hard enough breathing in our extreme heat and face masks will make this even more difficult for the very people we are trying to protect, the most vulnerable.

I support implementing mandatory mask policy for private business (staff & customers) to be enforced. Policy should stay in effect until City reaches CDC standards to flatten curve & policy measure should automatically allow for re-up with no notice considering time is of the essence.I urge you to implement PSA's that clearly message "where all in this together" with an educational component to broadcast repeatedly on local News.

I strongly oppose to have mandatory use of masks for people's health sake. Blocking oxigen when you breath is risking every one that wears a mask. It should be our right to choose.

It should be up to the Individual to make their own choice, as this is and should have never been a political issue. It has become a point of contention in which there is no agreement as to the legitimacy and has been made a topic of nuclear proportions, weaponized. Until there is a consensus that is bipartisan, with empirical, peer-reviewed evidence, pertaining to the efficacy of masks, expect backlash, and non compliance. As, a vote to pass this measure is unconstitutional.

I oppose the act of mandatory masking. This is a violation of personal and plausible religious rights. It could be interpreted as a “mark” in biblical terms. The health risk of this virus is not great enough to warrant draconian measures and possible further civil uprising nor does it warrant this act that could push law abiding citizens to become lawless as a response. I say NO on forced masking.

100% in favor of a mandatory mask ordinance that prevents access to public/private spaces without one but do not want to see people detained since jails are a hot spot. AZ Courts have mandated masks since June 1 by order of the chief justice, but without a broader policy the virus keeps spreading and prevents jury trials from resuming. This affects the due process rights of those accused of crime and forces us to spend more taxpayer money on jail.

I strongly oppose being forced to wear a face mask. This should be a personal decision. Please treat us as adults and do not MANDATE to me how to live my life. Let the kids go back to school, open all the businesses back up and if people choose to wear masks they can and the vast majority of us who are not sick or in high risk groups can live our lives. You trust us as adults to pay taxes, trust us to make our own decisions for ourselves and our families.

I am a District 4 resident in support of masks. Masks reduce the spread.

The chambers of commerce agree. The business community agrees. And most Phoenicians agree. But a majority doesn’t cut it: to protect the herd, all must wear masks.

I don’t understand why some resist. Some resisters seem sincere. I hope we can convince them to help us protect Phoenix voluntarily in the future. But until then, the Council should follow the Mayor’s strong lead and require us all to mask up.

I am a Phoenix resident and I am 110% in full support of mandating the widespread use of masks in Phoenix. We need a citywide policy now to protect the health of the City’s most valuable asset, its residents. Without a policy that ensures safety people do not have the confidence required to resume activities and reopen their businesses. The threat of being exposed to the coronavirus from people not wearing masks is bad for business and even worse for public health.

I strongly support a policy to make wearing a mask mandatory for public places. Science supports wearing a masks, much like hand washing, to prevent the spread of COVID-19. I wear a mask to keep others safe. Without others wearing masks, they put me at risks as well as others I am in contact with, such as my 85 year old Mom who lives with me. Masks are now like car seat belts, motorcycle helmets, child car seats, and other devices, that are needed for our safety. Please, make masks mandatory.

I oppose mandatory face mask policy for the city of Phoenix. It imposes on the freedom of my family and the other residents of Phoenix. Many people have difficulty breathing with masks on, so a mandatory mask policy would hurt these people. Including me who can’t breath and almost pass out wearing a mask. People scared of getting the virus can still wear them to stay safe. It is a win win for both groups. Which is the city councils duty to uphold; the freedom, choice, and safety of the majority

I strongly disapprove of making masks mandatory! It is very unhealthy to the numerous people who have medical conditions as well as wearing one in the Arizona heat would be dangerous. This needs to stay a CHOICE!! If people want to wear them, fine. But don't take away my freedom of choice to choose not to wear one.

I am a District 4 resident and I strongly support a citywide policy mandating face masks. This is the only way, other than social distancing, that is proven to reduce the spread of COVID-19. This is a small step that we can all take to save thousands of lives. The City of Phoenix needs to take action now to create a mandatory face covering policy in order to slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community.
