After leading the nation in police related shootings in 2018, two years later we saw the department arrest protestors in mass. Evidence overwhelmingly demonstrates that Phx PD is not only violent, but utterly ineffective at even the most basic aspects of their supposed role of keeping people safe. In 2018, 90% of rapes went unsolved. From 2008 to 2018, 1/3 of homicides went unsolved. No other profession could continue to operate so poorly, harm, and murder, and continue to be funded.
