More beds at HSC is the first step to helping the unsheltered reduce the stresses and provide safety.

The city needs to provide the unhoused with beds instead of wasting money on anti-homeless architecture and criminalizing them. All humans deserve to have a bed to lay their head in. The city is trying to find so many alternatives rather than helping the unhoused because to them they do not see them as equal. The unhoused are humans and deserve beds, withholding more beds is inhuman and WRONG.

Access to shelter is a human right. Not providing enough resources reinforces false narratives around our homeless neighbors. Additionally, getting people off the streets and eventually into permanent housing reduces other implied costs of homelessness, including first responder efforts, crime, property damage, trespassing, litter, access to health care, and other costs associated with citizens forced to survive on the streets. Please approve this proposal.

The city should be providing shelter beds for their homeless instead of just ignoring them and blaming them for ruining their image. Homelessness is a huge problem and there is no reason except to save money to provide more beds. Please place more beds into the shelter.

Please approve the beds. This is a basic human right.

The very least the city could do is provide additional shelter beds for the folks who need them. We can't tackle houselessness by ignoring those who are unsheltered in our community. There is absolutely no reason to justify not adding more shelter beds, otherwise you're actively choosing greed and immorality over community members.

Please approve this request of more beds for a low/no Barrier Shelter. I am a volunteer at Andre House and hope they are able to complete this goal of building additional beds so those in our community have a place to rest their heads.

It is your responsibility to make sure ALL Phoenix residents are given the basic needs they need to survive. Andre House is doing this work for you, basically, and all you need to do is approve more shelter beds. Easy. And so meaningful and important. Please please approve this request for more shelter beds. We need it desperately!

Strongly support. Homelessness is a complex and multi-layered issue that requires both community and City leadership to solve. Homelessness is a pervasive problem and will never miraculously disappear. The Human Services Campus and Andre House can we improve outcomes and opportunities for people who are homeless. The City of Phoenix must play a major role and be a leader in solving the challenges of homelessness.

Please approve this request for low/no barrier shelter to be allowed. With the building being provided by Andre House & the shelter run by Community Bridges, we can better serve those in need of shelter. This is a growing population & we must find new ways to give shelter, support & help to as many himan beings as we can.
    Thank you,
    Diane vanMaanen

I support Agenda item #62. It is vital that we increase more sheltered beds for the unsheltered in Phoenix. It is also important that the homeless have access to mental health services provided by Community Bridges (as well as other pertinent services for their overall well-being). I ask you to have compassion, and show kindness to the homeless today in your decision. We all make mistakes, but that doesn’t mean someone doesn’t deserve a home, or help during tough times. Namaste.

Let's quit thinking our community is unique. Homelessness needs are everywhere and need to be addressed now. Stop ignoring data, when it tells you what you did not know. The need for shelter beds is real! Our brothers and sisters in the community experiencing homelessness some for the first time need shelter! Don't focus on the barriers, stop wasting time, stop settling for business as usual. Real people need not only shelter but commitment to end homelessness. More beds is a good start. Thanks

I strongly support the increase of beds for the Human Services Campus. We need to provide these marginalized individuals with dignity. Let Phoenix be a city that shows other cities we care for our homeless population with care and compassion.

I strongly support the increase in shelter beds within the Human Services Campus. Several years ago I attended a memorial service at the White Tanks Cemetery for 300 homeless people that had died on the streets in one year. NO HUMAN BEING DESERVES TO DIE ON THE STREET! Adding shelter beds is the least we can do for our "neighbor" who does not have an advocate.

I support item 62, there is no viable, logical, nor humane argument that can be made against ensuring that all Phoenix residents have a safe place to sleep!
