Please support our police officers by funding them. They work hard and risk so much to keep our city and communities safe. The least we can do is give them the funding they need. I am a tax payer. I want my money used wisely. Supporting our police officers is money spent wisely. Please support them and give them the funding they need.
I want to thank City Manager Ed Zuercher and the Budget and Research Department for making and presenting a balanced budget for Phoenix that provides services for a safe, healthy, and vibrant City. In the budget I see funding for parks, libraries, LED Streetlight Conversion, Police, Fire, Block Watch Operations, transit and streets, and Human and Neighborhood Services. There's even funding for arts and culture. Looks good to me.
Our community asks that you redirect funds to programs that heal and educate our community. We believe investments in mental health and trauma services, education, and after-school care, adequate housing, healthcare, and employment opportunities can help create and sustain a safe community instead of funding a police department that is statistically ranked one of the highest in the country for cases of police killing civilians.

I support funding the budget. We need our police officers and fire fighters now more than ever. It would be tragic and irresponsible to not fund the budget. I am a minority and I fully support funding the budget.
Hello. I am writing to oppose the proposed $944,680,555 allocated to the City of Phoenix Public Safety Dept. Our community asks that you redirect funds to programs that heal and educate our community, as opposed to militarizing our police force. The Phoenix Police Department is statistically ranked highest in the country for cases of Police killing civilians. Phoenix deserves policing alternatives and investments in mental health, trauma services, education, housing, and employment.
Please consider 1) shifting the proposed funding for the Phoenix police department to community development and enrichment 2) consider alternatives to policing through the community. The Phoenix police department has been shown to be violent and ineffective in protecting and serving the community. This is above partisan politics and I call on you to do what is right by the people who elected you and protect them and make the budget reflect their wants and needs. Thank you.
Police forces across the country have proven that diversifying and implementing various pieces of training have not and will not end police brutality. The city of Phoenix needs and deserves policing alternatives and investments in mental health and trauma services, education and after-school care, adequate housing, healthcare, and employment opportunities.
The Public Safety funding in this budget is disproportionate to need when compared with monies budgeted for health and human services. Especially when comparing monies spent in 2019-2020 on public safety, this increase is far too high.
I oppose the 44 Adoption of the Tentative 2020-21 Annual Budget (Ordinance S-46650) – We need new policies for the future of our communities. This funding seeks to enrich a program that discriminates on members of society whilst enabling Phoenix PD to maintain a status quo of non-performative, injunctive actions, abuse of authority, and lackluster training for the betterment of the future of phoenix society I SUPPORT establishing and fully funding the Civilian Review Board a
I oppose a $200 million + budget increase for PPD. Phoenix PD has been one of the deadliest police departments in the nation. Please re-divert this budget increase towards research-based solutions to stop police violence: 1. Predictive policing of our police - add accountability to reign in violence 2. Alternative strategies to police as crime-prevention 3. Non-police alternatives to 911 including mental health first responders 4. Demilitarization - Montana is an excellent example of this
Please reconsider the proposed $944,680,555 allocated to our public safety department for the 2020-21 fiscal year. Our community asks that you redirect funds to programs that heal and educate our community. Increase the proposed $24,760,742 and $26,837,014 budgets for community development and community enrichment. Defund the Phoenix PD and allocate 2020-21 city funds to policies and programs that will create and sustain a safe community. Thank you!
Please continue to fund our PPD! We NEED them and will lose many good men and women if this budget does not pass! Then what!? Please also consider that many people who support our first responders are afraid to publicly speak up right now for fear of being targeted by the very people wishing to defund the men and women who ultimately keep us SAFE.
I strongly oppose increasing the Phoenix Police Department's budget. Protect and aid our citizens by allocating these funds to education and other resources that better serve our community.

This is a proposed budget for ALL public safety officers in our city. That’s not JUST police.. that includes funding for the fire department, EMT, etc
I stand with our first responders.
I support passing the budget as is and completely funding both the Phoenix Police and Phoenix Fire. Our city and our safety is reliant on it.

PPD does not to be defunded. Defunding our police will have an negative impact on our community I fully support our LEO.
I am in total support of the Phoenix Police Department. We cannot live in chaos, fear, and unrest. The Phoenix police help many people daily.

Defunding the police will only make the city more dangerous for residents and officers!
