The $25 million dollar increase planned for the PD would be better used for public programs that build and support our community. His police force is consistently deadly and violent and they cannot be trusted with the additional funds. Our community deserves to be developed, not violently policed!

Please reconsider the proposed $944,680,555 allocated to our public safety department for the 2020-21 fiscal year. Our community asks that you redirect funds to programs that heal and educate our community. Increase the proposed budgets for community development and community enrichment.

The City of Phoenix needs and deserves policing alternatives and investments in mental health and trauma services, education, and after-school care, adequate housing, healthcare, and employment opportunities.

I support the funding of the Phoenix police department! They risk their lives day in and day out during all the scrutiny in today’s media. Not only are the beyond short staffed for the size of our city they will not be able to do their jobs without proper funding. I SUPPORT THE POLICE!

The police have proven that they are unwilling to protect people and have beaten people, brutalized people, and terrorized communities. The citizens should not have to fund them when they are not working for the citizens.

I am in support of increasing the PHX Police Department's budget. Just imagine how much more destruction our City would have experienced this past week if the PHX PD had fewer Officer on the street. Arizona's Capitol & Phoenix City Hall would be torched. The demonstration a few nights ago would have easily moved up 7th St and shut down I-10. Just take a moment and Invision that. The 5th largest City in America needs a Police Dept capable of dealing with issues such as these.

I support the men and women in blue. Without a budget how will they protect and serve our community.

It’s imperative to continue allocating funds to the Phx PD. Their daily protection of the citizens and property within our city is absolutely necessary. Imagine the consequences if they’re defunded.

I asks that you redirect funds to programs that heal and educate our community. Increase the proposed $24,760,742 and $26,837,014 budgets for community development and community enrichment.

This will be a human centeres root cause solution to building a strong Phoenix where all people can thrive.

I strongly oppose this budget allocation for public safety. The public would be safer if these funds were spent on education, healthcare including mental healthcare, and affordable housing. If people’s basic needs were being met, this level of policing would be unnecessary.

    DEFUND THE POLICE!
The community is begging you to reallocate the proposed $944,680,555
to our “public safety.” Phoenix PD kills more civilians than any other police department in the country, why would we be funding them so much money? Diversifying and implementing various training have not and will not end police brutality. Redirect that money to programs that educate and heal our community. Phoenix needs more housing, healthcare, and employment opportunities.

In the proposed budget, OAT only receives 400K in funding. However, it is anticipated to cost $3 million.

Justice should be a budget priority. And without oversight, there will be no justice.

Please fund the Phoenix Civilian Review Board and defund the Phoenix police department. On behalf of George Floyd, Dion Johnson, Breonna Taylor, and many more black innocent lives. Please do your part to bring them justice.

Our Public safety department is more than just the Phoenix Police dept!! It’s all of public safety including the Fire dept. Phoenix residents need this funding to provide proper safety and care for its growing communities. If there truly is a gap between races and officers, we need to fund the programs and time to make more availability to heal those relationships. Our public safety NEEDS investment from its council to be better. We’re short handed as is!

In Phoenix, there are an estimated 25,000 people unhoused each year, over 900,000 people do not have enough food, and 1 in 10 have no health insurance. Yet, you spend nine hundred million dollars on "public safety." It is shameful. Nine hundred million dollars. Redirect funds from the brutal police state killing black and brown people. Fund programs that invest in the community instead of tearing it apart.

I strongly opposed to the proposed $944,680,555 allocated to our so called public safety department. I ask that PHX redirect funds to programs that heal and educate our community by increasing the proposed $24,760,742 & $26,837,014 budgets for community development and community enrichment. Phoenix needs and deserves policing alternatives and investments in mental health and trauma services, education and after-school care, adequate housing, healthcare, and employment opportunities.
