I strongly oppose the $944 million allocated for the public safety department. The City of Phoenix needs and deserves policing alternatives and investments in mental health and trauma services, education, and after-school care, adequate housing, healthcare, and employment opportunities. Increase the proposed $24,760,742 and $26,837,014 budgets for community development and community enrichment to create a safe and sustainable community.

Please reconsider the proposed $944,680,555 allocated to our public safety department for the 2020-21 fiscal year. Our community asks that you redirect funds to programs that heal and educate our community. Increase the proposed $24,760,742 and $26,837,014 budgets for community development and community enrichment.
Defund the Phoenix PD and allocate 2020-21 city funds to policies and programs that will create and sustain a safe community.

I support the budget. Arts can be funded by charitable organizations. We need to have well trained officers and better community programs to bridge the relationship. Members of the community came out in protest as the first step. The city shouldn't react by creating a poorly trained police force. That is poor leadership as demonstrated by the city of Minneapolis. Sometimes precincts have 3 cars on patrol. Does the city want responsibility of someone dying because help can't arrive?

Please pass the budget for the Police Department. Phoenix is growing like crazy and more people committing crimes. We need more protection. I pay high taxes and expect that there is enough police to keep us safe. Look how crazy things are now . People rioting and looting. We need to be prepared for these changing times

I strongly oppose the proposed budget as written. I am against the $944,680,555 currently allocated to the public safety department for the 2020-21 fiscal year. I am in favor of a budget that redirects a lot of that funding to community programs, mental healthcare, adequate housing, rehabilitation services, and education.

I wish to register my strong opposition to the proposed 2020-21 budget. The healthiest and most prosperous communities are not those with large expenditures on policing or those with particularly large police forces. The empirical research is clear. Consequently, we should divert funding from policing into real public safety initiatives, such as housing, healthcare, and expanded employment opportunities. Furthermore, substantially more support for the civilian review board is paramount.

I am writing to have you reconsider the proposed $944,680,555 allocated to our public safety department for the 2020-21 fiscal year. Our community is begging for the funds to be redirected to programs that heal and educate our community. Increase the purposed $24,760,742 and $26,837,014 budgets for community development and community enrichment
The Phoenix police is statistically ranked highest in the country for cases of police killing civilians. We deserve alternatives and a stronger community

I oppose the proposed $944,680,555 allocated to our public safety department for the 2020-21 fiscal year. We should not be funding such a ridiculous amount to a department that continues to fail members of the PHX community. Redirect these funds to community development and community enrichment- something that will ACTUALLY help us. Please reconsider this budget plan.

I strongly urge you to redirect your proposed budget for the public safety department to our community development and community enrichment. The Phoenix police department ranks highest statistically for civilian killings and its proven no matter the trainings, it doesn’t stop their brutality. The city of Phoenix is begging you for investments in mental health and trauma services, education and after school care, healthcare, adequate housing, and. employment opportunities.
    Please help.

I demand that you redirect funds from Phoenix Police to programs that heal and educate our community. The proposed amount of police funding is grotesque. The City of Phoenix is one of the worst in the country for instances of police brutality. Police forces across the country have proven that diversification and training have not and will not end police brutality. Instead, Phoenix needs investment in education, environmental programs, affordable housing, and mental health services, among others.

Please reconsider the proposed 2020-2021 budget. Funding should be increased for Community Development, Community Enrichment and Environmental Programs and not the Public Safety Department. Our communities need these programs to heal, please do the right thing!

We demand Phoenix Police Department be defunded! In 2018 Phoenix PD was ranked one of the deadliest in the nation, the money that goes toward hurting members of community can go towards social environmental and economic justice!
