We value our community over cops-- police are supposed to support our citizens and keep us safe. Instead, our police dept has been called the deadliest in the community, which means deadliest to our neighbors, the people they should protect and serve. They do not deserve raises for this. Instead, we must adequately fund the Civilian Review Board and Office of Accountability and Transparency to protect our loved ones and make sure the police are our protectors, not people we need protection FROM.

I strongly oppose the increase and current funding of PHX PD. Put these funds into community programs that ACTUALLY help and protect PHX citizens.

I strongly support funding public safety. The Phoenix police department is already heavily understaffed and will only continue to be as our city grows. Funding should be used to build a well trained, honorable, more qualified, police officers that our city can be proud of.

I'm Emily Dacey, AZ voter and tax payer. We have one of the deadliest police forces in the nation. And one of the worst public school systems. We are at the bottom of the list in dollars invested per student in this country. Our police system has been corrupt, under-supervised, and over funded for far too long. Dion Johnson was killed a number of days ago, and even after the $721 MILLION ANNUAL BUDGET - we have ZERO body cam footage? SHAMEFUL! NO MORE. OPPOSE THIS BUDGET. DEFUND THE POLICE.

I strongly oppose the funding that is to be allocated to the public safety department and would rather it be the focus of the funding to go to education or health outreach. It is better to be preventative than trying to fix the problem with brute force.

I strongly oppose the $944,680,555 budget allocated for our public safety department. The Phoenix PD is statistically ranked one of the highest in the country for cases of police killing civilians. Our community asks that you redirect funds to programs that heal and educate our community from the ground up and increase the budgets for community development and community enrichment. Defund the Phoenix PD.

I vehemently oppose the allocation of the budget to the Phoenix Police Force. With this police force committing atrocities and human rights violations everyday, it would be a slap to the face of justice to support this behavior. If money equals power, I demand we take away the power of these policies who abuse it for their own racist predilections. Instead I support more funding for education and low income housing in the area.

I strongly oppose the inflated "public safety" budget. Please consider redirecting funds to education and healthcare (including mental health services) and actually investing in the community.

I oppose the funding increase for the Phoenix Police Department. These funds should instead be invested in community programs, education, community health, mental health, and other social services that are more in need.

    Oppose funding to the PHXPD

I oppose this budget. There is too much money allotted to an already racist, brutal, and deadly police force. As one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the US, PHX should be leading the way in reducing police brutality. Put the money towards providing communities with equitable access to public resources, education, and justice.

We must defund the most murderous police force in the United States

Please consider reallocating the Police Department funds to the community.

I fully support the adoption of the budget and the police department. As the last few days have shown, now is not the time to punish a department for the egregious errors of a few. As the whole department has shown, their efforts of law and order, in a very confusing time is more important and necessary now than ever. Removing funding will not help solve the problem, only exacerbate.

I strongly oppose the current budget. I'm light of current events it is clear that Phoenix police are over funded and have more than enough supplies. Please consider diverting the money to the budget for community development and community enrichment.

I strongly oppose the proposed $944,680,555 allocated to our public safety department for the 2020-21 fiscal year. THIS WILL ONLY LEAD TO MORE SENSELESS VIOLENCE. Our community asks that you redirect funds to programs that heal and educate our community, increase the proposed $24,760,742 and $26,837,014 budgets for community development and community enrichment. The Phoenix PD is statistically ranked highest in the country for cases of police killing civilians. This needs to change. Period.

Redirect the proposed $944M allocated to public safety to programs that heal & educate, like community development & enrichment.
Phx PD is ranked one of the highest in the US for cases of police killing civilians. Police “reforms” have not & will not end police brutality.
Phx needs policing alternatives & investments in mental health, trauma services, education, after-school care, housing, healthcare & employment.
Defund the Phx PD & use our tax dollars to create & sustain a safe community.

The city of Phoenix needs investments in mental health, education, trauma services and healthcare. Support our communities from the ground up, instead of over-allocating funds to reactionary institutions.

We must reallocate our police department funds to improve our communities to support healthcare, education and housing.
