We Opened too soon. Please mandate mask wearing. too many people were out with no masks especially with all the protests. I think that within the next couple weeks we will probably need to re-impose the Stay-at-Home order. Mandate Masks in public and enclosed areas.

I support mandatory masks. It's a simple way for us to protect each other until we have more effective means to fight the virus. A virus that is highly contagious and was able to move across the globe in a few short months.

I strongly support a mask mandate in Phoenix because my neighbor’s and my city’s health is more important than my own comfort level. Let’s flatten that curve!

I support a measure mandating masks. Our hospital system will not be able to keep up if we do not stop this upward trend. Studies are showing that wearing a mask can decrease transmission tremendously. AZ cases are rising so quickly and we need to take action by requiring masks.

Mandatory masks will allow people who are unable to right now go out and the economy and spend money safely. Many of us live with high risk individuals and right now we’re not able to resume normal life in order to protect them. Every day that I can’t go out due to community Irresponsibility is another day that I cannot support the economy. Masks equal protection.

That would be a no from our famliy. We will not be wearing masks and we will not make our kids wear one either. Government over reach!

I support a requirement to wear face coverings to reduce transmission of SARS-COVI-2 among Phoenix Residents. Face coverings should be required in public indoor spaces, such as retail shops, community and government buildings, and public transit vehicles.

I can’t imagine having to wear a mask in 110 degree heat in the middle of the day. I can’t imagine trying to run with a mask on. I can’t imagine how hard it would be for seniors & people with unseen health conditions that make it difficult to breathe w/out a mask already—people could pass out or die from improper air intake, not a virus.
We don’t need a new squad of police officers enforcing a stupid mask order. Are masks going to be the new “papers”? “Show me your papers....I mean mask!”

I am a nurse. Principles of infectious disease make it obvious that hand hygiene and wearing a mask will help stop the spread. We can’t become NY. I wear a mask for 12 hours at work. People are capable of doing this to help protect themselves and others.

We shouldn’t need a policy mandating wearing of masks in public, in a community where people care about each other, it should be a given that people want to wear masks to protect their friends, neighbors and loved ones, unfortunately we don’t live in that community. So, the government should step in and mandate that everyone wear a mask in public, so that everyone can enjoy life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Remember, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few...or the one.

Masks do not stop the virus particles. The label on the mask says does not protect against COVID-19. People are getting pleurisy from wearing masks. It needs to be an individual decision not a mandated one. Vote no on mask wearing. Thank you.

It's all well and good to yell about personal responsibility, but you only have to look around to see that far too many people are not being responsible. There is now hard evidence that masks help prevent the spread of covid, and every little bit helps.

Please vote to require masks in public. We’ve unfortunately proven we can’t handle the responsibility ourselves, and need to be told. In order for businesses to remain open and our economy to recover, we need to keep everyone as safe as possible - which means masks and social distancing. Let’s show that all lives matter by protecting everyone. Mask up, please!

I strongly support requiring people to wear masks in public spaces. We know that COVID-19 is an airborne disease, spread simply through breathing, talking, coughing, or sneezing, those droplets can spread for 6 feet or beyond, the virus can live on surfaces for up to several days, people are asymptomatic for up to 14 days before they display signs of illness. Evidence that wearing even cloth face coverings will reduce the spread of the virus, protecting those who are unable to remain at home.

Mandate the wearing of masks in Phoenix to help save lives. According to azdhs.gov, we are nearing 2k new COVID-19 cases per day without any sign of slowing, and our ICU beds are at an all time high capacity of 84%. This is basic math. How is protecting the health of our community up for debate?

It is our social responsibility to protect one another’s health. It is not political — it is a matter of public health. Make masks mandatory.

Thousands of Arizonans are projected to die this summer - now is the time do your part to slow the spread of the virus and save lives by requiring face coverings.
Please put the health and lives of all Phoenicians above the discomfort of those who oppose this policy.
