Please mandate face masks. This is a small price to pay to keep each other safe. It is a minor inconvenience that will equate to a big payoff.

I believe a citywide face covering policy is long overdue. Given that Arizona is the national and perhaps world wide hotspot for covid increase in cases and death--we honestly have no choice. As a mother of a front line health care worker, my daughter is a first year intern in the Phoenix U of A, we must take action now. We are hearing our hospitals are already at capacity and important equipment is not available for all patients. We must flatten the rapidly rising curve.

It is unhealthy to breath in carbon dioxide. I have a health issue that makes it impossible to wear a mask! NYC attempted this mandatory mask wearing and they stopped all enforcement after a 10 million dollar lawsuit after abusing a mom in front of her 5 year old! Does this city want the same? Someone will be harmed and sue!!!

Arizona is the new epicenter of the global COVID-19 pandemic with more cases per capita than Lombardy, Italy at its peak, surpassing Peru, Brazil, and the USA currently. Far too many lives have been lost due to negligence and incompetence, a mask mandate is the least the city can do to help keep its citizens safe.

My children attend a high school in Phoenix that will already be requiring face coverings. Please make it easier on people to move from city to city without confusion over face coverings. We can all do our part to protect teachers, essential workers, and the vulnerable from COVID-19 in the interest of public safety.

As a doctor, I have pledge to save lives whenever possible. Wearing a face covering helps prevent the spread of COVID-19, for which there is no treatment and currently no vaccine. We mandated seatbelt use when the research showed it saved lives, and we should also mandate face coverings to save lives.

I live in District 6 and strongly support that wearing face coverings be mandatory. Face masks are an effective way to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus, as shown by scientific studies and by other countries that have used them to control this virus. This policy will allow businesses to remain open (and customers to be safe), our health care system to not be overwhelmed, and for children to have the possibility of returning to school in the fall.

Wearing masks will help slow the spread of disease significantly while allowing us to get back to business. This situation is only temporary. Let's do the right thing. We need to protect each other more than anything right now. Please require face masks with a recurring date for review of the policy every six to eight weeks.

It is unconstitutional to mandate healthy people wear masks. Since when are the well quarantined or forced to wear masks? And how would you enforce this? I think our police officers have enough on their plate without citing healthy people from breathing fresh air.

As an advocate for the disabled and a senior citizen I implore you to follow the guidelines of the CDC. Require facial covering in public. Help my clients and myself have the freedom to shop at a grocery or go to a retailer without fear of contracting Covid-19. The only chance we have of flattening the curve is masks and social distancing. Please give Arizona a fighting chance against this pandemic.

There have been many medical professionals commenting here and in the news about the risks of mandating masks. https://technocracy.news/blaylock-face-masks-pose-serious-risks-to-the-healthy/

Masks are proven to reduce transmission, but it’s only effective if everyone participates. Please make the right choice for Phoenix. It’s a small, temporary sacrifice that can help keep our communities healthy!

Requiring citizens to wear a mask outside is not reasonable. This should be a personal choice.

Please require mandatory masks. I’m on the frontline as an Internal Medicine Physician and this disease is killing our community! We need help slowing the spread. We do NOT have the resources to care for all of the patients that will be hospitalized otherwise. Thank you.

As we study this issue further, consensus appears to be that face coverings significantly reduce the spread of COVID-19. I am interested in "keeping Phoenix open" and keeping our economy moving, so we should all wear face coverings in order to prevent another shutdown in addition to preventing the spread of this disease.

If you don't know you should, mask deprive a person of oxygen and can even cause carbon-dioxide poisoning
if worn to long. They also weaken a persons immune system. Also this country has a constitution that does not
allow the government to dictate to the citizen. People should choose for themselves to wear a mask or not..
