If we don't do something to stop this from taking over our state, we will be more devestated. Our restaurants are a good sign-- they are now closing for a 2nd time and who knows which ones will be able to return. Now other states are refusing Arizona in without a 14 day quarantine (Kansas was the first one) Now we have the most outbreaks than Brazil, Peru and Europe? We need Masks and we need them mandatory now.

Please require face masks for indoor public spaces! Covid numbers have gone up since reopening. Requiring face masks makes good sense. Please and thank you.

This is NOT an issue of individual freedom vs. state-sanctioned totalitarianism. Its an issue of being a good human, a good neighbor and a good community member. We could eradicate the virus by making mask mandatory.

If you feel that wearing a cloth mask is impeding on your freedoms, you can’t be taken seriously. I support mandating masks.

We must mandate masks. Unfortunately there are some that have a stronger alliance to independent freedoms than the collective good and health of our community. There are has been much confusion and changes in the guidance and so many people read one wrong or outdated article and then stand their ground. For the good of all, masks must be mandated.

I strongly agree with Mayor Gallego regarding face masks. The city of Phoenix should require people to wear face coverings in public spaces. This is good public policy.

I went to get a haircut at V's Barbershop in central Phoenix on Tuesday. It was my first one in 4 months, which as a former naval officer is a record for me by far. Not a single employee was wearing a mask. Without a mandate, businesses just won't comply. I'd like to see the focus of a mask rule to fall primarily on a business, where if they fail to require their employees and customers to wear masks, they get shut down for a month. This will encourage businesses to do their part. Thank you.

My wife has lupus & Is iimmunocompromised. We stay home whenever possible because many residents are not wearing masks & put her at greater risk. We already know that our councilman is voting “no” because my wife called his office. Wearing a mask is uncomfortable, but it’s a tiny sacrifice to ask of all residents to protect the health of everyone & slow the spread. Yes, science & studies support both of those claims. The governor finally untied your hands. Please vote yes to mandate masks.

It has been said that the masks do nothing to protect against coronavirus, yet wearing one long term can weaken immune system and can be a very big health risk for say someone with asthma who has a hard time breathing already. Also the WHO has said that asymptotic carriers do not spread it as easily as thought. Therefore I do not feel like we should be forced to wear a mask.

As a doctors in a Valley ER, I support a mask policy. Two things are clear. The first is that COVID19 is spreading rapid in Arizona. This has the potential to overwhelm hospitals, take lives, and greatly disrupt businesses and schools if not stopped. The second is that masks on everyone is the easiest way for people to stop the spread of COVID19. Masks also allow people to continue their lives with minimal disruption while still being responsible. It’s the right thing to do.

We were seatbelts because they are scientifically proven to save lives, as are the masks to stop the spread. I wear a mask for myself and also anyone I come in contact with. The fact that this issue has turned political and ‘attacks personal freedoms’ is nonsense. We as a country have ignored empirical data and health warnings and are faring the WORST. Now we, as a state, are deciding to ignore science and are also faring the WORSE. I wear my mask for you and for me.

Wearing masks should be mandatory to decrease the spread of COVID

What happened to medical freedom? Our constitutional rights? I oppose the mandate. As an immune compromised individual I believe we can only make choices for ourselves to best protect ourselves. I oppose a mask mandate, and will not be wearing a mask.

Since virtually every a-political study shows that wearing masks does nothing to add protection from the Coronavirus. Even those entities/people who were the most vociferous advocates of masks are now changing their tune. Currently the WHO does not recommend this practice (WHO May 2020).

I Oppose: I believe this is a violation of the first amendment of freedom of religion and expression also is a molestation against liberty.
