I support this measure. Masks have been proven to be effective at reducing the spread of COVID-19. In conjunction with other measures like social distancing, disinfecting surfaces, and limiting time in public, we can help to protect others in our community. Masks work most effectively when they are worn by everyone, thus reducing the number of virus particles released into the air. Please adopt this measure to keep everybody in our community safe.

I strongly support this measure as an effective way to control the spread of COVID-19. The past few months, I have been disheartened at the lack of mask-wearing in public spaces. It is not about individual comfort, government control, or partisanship. It is a matter of common decency and kindness to protect those around us from this deadly disease. Just as the law requires seatbelts to protect ourselves, we all must come together as a community to protect each other with masks and distancing.

No mandatory mask. Mask deprive a person of oxygen and can even cause carbon-dioxide poisoning
if worn to long. They also weaken a persons immune system.

The time has come to mandate masks/face coverings for all residents. I understand there must be exceptions (similar to those granted in Scottsdale) and so be it. People aren’t doing the right thing to save lives, so it must come to this. I fully support a mask mandate. Thank you for your leadership and for taking action to protect our city.

Please require people to wear masks in public! I am a nurse practitioner and am appalled when I go to the store and see only 25% of people wearing masks. COVID kills people, and is spread by droplets that come out of your nose and mouth when you cough, sneeze, or talk. Studies have shown that masks are effective at reducing COVID transmission. With businesses open and allowing many people to congregate in enclosed spaces, masks are essential! People who don't wear masks put others at risk!

Please support a mask-wearing policy for being in public. I have three co-morbidities and the only way I can be safe is if I and everyone else wears a mask and keeps social distancing, when they are in public. A mandatory mask policy is our best policy proposal to make covid 19 cases decline. It is the simplest and most effective public health policy to combat covid 19.

The public cost of wearing a mask is nominal. The cost of not wearing a mask is very high to the public.

I fully support a mask mandate for city of Phoenix. We are dealing with a pandemic and unfortunately what we were doing, isn’t working. Arizona has over 43,000 cases and more than 1,200 deaths. Wearing a mask is the bare minimum we can do to prevent the spread of the virus, protect community health, and show respect to others. Additionally, I hope the city enacts penalties for not wearing a mask, and a mandate to enforce. Thank you.

Today I walked into a medical appointment where all of the staff was maskless in North Phoenix. Because they didn't want to stress out their patients. I'm so disappointed that we have to be mandated to do the right thing, but it has come to that. Please mandate.

Support this measure and actually enforce it. When this all started AZ shocked me with being so active in making sure everyone was safe. Now that a pandemic has become political?? Arizona has decided to forget the health of its residents and keep pushing on because of our governor sacrificing lives to stay open. Masks are just the start.

Please, please support this measure. I am a registered nurse and a registered voter. Enacting a city-wide face covering policy will save lives, prevent disease transmission and save Arizona immeasurable money. Phoenix healthcare workers are overwhelmed and we must do something to flatten the curve on the COVID-19 pandemic in Arizona. Our governor has failed to keep us safe - please don't follow his example.

I support the policy of face masks as mandatory use in the city of Phoenix. We have surpassed the ability to provide care in emergency settings. I worry for my family, and friends who are at risk due to lack of control of the spread. I support the use of the face mask policy so we can begin to flatten the curve and ensure herd immunity, and protection for vulnerable populations. Face masks are our best option for security for those who are at risk and need solidarity from those who are not

If you want the state to open without a vaccine, suck it up and wear a mask, it is the actual bare minimum you can do. Or your selfishness will the cause more unnecessary deaths directly or indirectly. If it hasn't affected you yet, wait for it, it will. This is not a hoax and it's doesn't care about your opinion or who you vote for.

As a local physician, I am an advocate not only for my patients, but for all our public health. We need to require masks when people come face-to-face. We have seen the surge in covid cases without a mask requirement. Now is the time to act.

Please Mask Up Arizona! I work in the public school system and know first hand how quickly illnesses pass from one child to another. Please keep us safe! We need someone we can count on.

Who is paying for the masks, should they be made mandatory? People can't afford food, rent, medicine. How are they supposed to afford a mask? Please advise who is paying for the masks.
