62 Public Hearing - Amend City Code - Ordinance Adoption - Rezoning Application Z-SP-2-19-7 - Southeast Corner of 13th Avenue and Madison Street (Ordinance G-6799)
Please support Andre house so they can offer more shelter beds! The work they are doing is absolutely vital, especially during the pandemic. Please help them support such a vulnerable community with compassion and empathy. I fully support Andre House in their mission.
I support more shelter beds. It is a vital need for our city. And a vital need to help those who have fallen on hard times get back on their feet. Every single person in our community deserves care and respect.
I support more shelter beds! Love, compassion, & understanding need to be in place to help basic needs be met prior to expecting other results. Once basic needs are met, other programs can be put in place. Basic needs must be met first. This will help keep the streets cleaner/safer for all citizens and visitors.
I support this very much. I would like to see Phoenix become a model for how big cities can support and uplift people experiencing homelessness. More beds = safer people.
I support more shelter beds! We need to be leading from places of love, compassion, and empathy while we look for solutions for our unsheltered population.
I am in strong support of adding more shelter bed for our most vulnerable citizens in the community, our homeless population. If we are going to be a good city we must help them have a safe place to sleep and go about their business. We have the space to add more shelter beds and protect the homeless from the brutal summers and the freezing winters. Please stop playing politics with this request and let's stop making them live in tents its inhumane. Please I beg you to approve this request.
I do not support more shelter beds downtown. We need more shelters and beds in OTHER AREAS of Phoenix besides just downtown. And why are we planning to PERMANENTLY HAVE A NEED FOR THIS EXPANSION?!?!?!? Why aren't we planning to have solutions that work to effectively get homeless back off of the streets, out of shelters and permanently housed?
We do need more shelters and beds, but increasing the beds permanently downtown is not the best solution for any involved.
I strongly support ordinance 62 and the expansion of bed spaces for those experiencing homelessness. The additional beds will provide access to a stable environment and will provide support from our brutal summer temperatures, cold winter nights, and stormy weather conditions for those who are unsheltered.
I support adding shelter beds! The number of people experiencing homelessness has increased drastically in Phoenix over recent years. These people are members of our community and deserve shelter. I strongly urge the City Council of Phoenix to approve the addition of shelter beds.
I support adding shelter beds. This would obviously be much needed help to an issue that I requires much more attention. I think the City of Phoenix should actively help out our homeless population, especially with the pandemic, something they have failed to do. Additionally, City of Phoenix should support organizations that already support homeless folks with more money and staff. Make housing affordable for homeless folks. Eliminate the barriers for these folks. Defund the Police!
I strongly support added shelter beds. This is one of the most basic needs to provide some comfort for those that have fallen on trying times, especially after the tough year we had last year. This should be approved in addition to more complex solutions to face the homelessness crisis.
It is very important for our community and well-being to allow for more shelter beds. I am a firefighter and we need more resources. There is a homeless crisis and we need to step up as a city. People are dying in the streets and it also creates a burden on the health care system, 911 especially by continuing to ignore this problem. We need to accept the help where we can get it and when an organization wants to provide a necessary service to the well being of others we cannot attack it. Thanks
As someone who lives and works in Phoenix I fully support adding more shelter beds to house our population. This is a basic need even more so during this pandemic.
Our homeless population is growing, and our shelters are in desperate need of more beds to keep families and individuals from having to sleep under the brush alongside our canals and river bed. Andre House has the capacity and support for more beds, they just need your approval to move forward. Thank you.
I fully support the increase in shelter beds to step into the right direction of addressing the needs of our unhoused community. I urge you to vote yes!
I support adding shelter beds. I work in the City of Phoenix only a few blocks from the Human Services Campus, which I have visited and witnessed the vast services that are offered to support those experiencing homelessness in this area. The need for more shelter exists, and the ability to provide more shelter is feasible. The community supports this effort, and the Human Services Campus and its partners just need your approval to provide additional shelter to those that need it.

#62 I support more shelter beds wholeheartedly. That will help contain the spread of the virus.

I support more shelter beds. We all have a birthright to adequate and obtainable shelter.

I support the position to add more shelter beds to the city of Phoenix. There is such a great need for housing and this is a start.
