I say YES, in my back yard. This has been desperately needed and planned on for many years. We can't afford to waste anymore time letting people suffer and die on the streets while we pander to the wishes of business owners who hope this neighborhood can become more profitable for them. We need shelter bed expansion now.

I have lived and worked in Central Phoenix for almost 25 years. Andre House and the Human Service Campus are two gems in our community. We should be doing everything in our power to remove obstacles for them to do their good work rather than make their work more difficult. I am in full support of this application and their goal to increase the number of beds.

I strongly support Ordinance 62; it is reprehensible to ignore the need of safe refuge, no less during a pandemic.

A bed and safe place to stay tonight is better than nothing! With COVID-19, people need safe places to shelter NOW so I 100% support adding new shelter beds. Phoenix's issues of houselesness is only getting worse as our economy continues to falter due to the pandemic and lack of effective government response at all levels of the pandemic. The LEAST we can do is provide a safe place to stay, even if it is temporary. Houselessness will not just go away and it is a public health issue! Give shelter

I oppose the HSC expansion plan as it was originally introduced. I strongly recommend that you vote for the Planning Commision compromise that has been introduced. It would be a better benefit to the neighborhood, the homeless and the City of Phoenix.

I support the expansion for opportunities for people to sleep in a safe environment because it is a physiological need within the five basic human needs. In order for a human to contribute to society, their mental health needs to be stable. By ensuring a safe environment, one of the five basic needs is fulfilled, enabling the individual to have an opportunity to contribute to society in a positive manner. Expanding opportunities for shelter ensures a safer community for society.

I strongly support adding more beds. The solution to ending homelessness is helping our neighbors and lifting them up within our communities. All people deserve a safe place to stay.

Every person deserves to be treated with dignity, that is precisely why I oppose expansion.
People need help, not just a roof over their head. It takes years to get appointments with a navigator. They are swamped, underpaid and over worked. Now they want to expand a thousand fold! We took in a homeless person who was on the list for housing and it took a year and a half to find housing. Instead of mega shelters, we need need small specialized shelters where people can get help. Please vote NO

I support adding shelter beds for our unhoused community. Making it unsafe or forcing people to be transient doesn't solve anything. Let's help people up.

there is overwhelming community support from your constituents to add shelter beds. there is also overwhelming need from our houseless community members to add shelter beds. concerns from opponents can be remedied by adding trash bins, porta potties, etc. people need resources (like beds), not punishment.

Unsheltered folks are our neighbors! Phoenix belongs to ALL of us; our neighbors' humanity entitles them to dignity & safety just like anyone else. We cannot claim to value life, equality, culture, & community if we refuse to meet our neighbors' needs now. Unsheltered folks are our parents, children, siblings, & friends. They are former & future creatives, teachers, doctors, nurses, lawyers, & business owners. Leadership, compassion, common sense, & human decency require a "yes" vote.
